In Nigeria…

January 25th, 2007  |  Published in Blogosphere, Nigeria  |  4 Comments

I have been in Nigeria since last Saturday. This trip makes the third in 12 months, and the first time I would attempt to blog from Naija. And it’s just not easy, I doff my hat to the men and women blogging from within the NG. It ain’t easy!… Don’t expect a follow-up post or a summary of my trip - that will come when I get back to my desk!

Now my head has began to swell. You know how it is here now don’t you?
And how are you finding Lagos?
I hope you are staying for the elections. It’s gonna be fun you know.

Good to see that you are back in your homeland for awhile. If you are having problems with telecom services in Nigeria then you know where there is a lot of opportunity for business: reliable, affordable, easy-to-use, broadband communications infrastructure.

It’s a bit misleading for the government to pump millions into the “Heart of Africa” campaign and boast that Nigeria has the fastest growing telecoms sector in Africa when the new telecom service infrastructure is performing so poorly. Or are we having some other type of problem with Internet access and performance in Nigeria?

Good luck and hope to see you Stateside soon back in sunny Minnesota.

I would love to hear what city you have traveled to. I understand that it is just as easy to travel to and from Abuja now as it is from Lagos. I would imagine that Abuja might have somewhat more up-to-date technology for internet access as well.

As you may now realize, you actually did “follow up” your post in that it was repeated once, getting comments both times!

Can’t wait to hear what it was like on your most recent trip back to Nigeria. What Black River Eagle said, above, makes a lot of sense…Hmmm…

Anyway, can’t wait to have you back in the blogosphere..
