How can a political party win an election it did not contest?
Yes, the PDP - the party that managed to pull 70% of the ballots in the presidential election was reported to have won a Senatorial district with 318,153 votes without even presenting any candidate. This happened in Ondo state, a state where the incumbent deputy governor was alleged to have personally hijacked election materials during the state elections.
This is not an indication of PDP’s popularity in Ondo State; it just shows how blatant and reckless PDP was defrauding the electorate!
Report has it as well that the police boss was a key player in the electoral scam. See the report of some independent reporters on Nigerian Election Hotline’s site: “Ondo Police Chief at Centre of rigging Allegations”
Utter rubbish!

Dare I say that a phantom has been elected? I though once a horse became riderless, it cannot be the winner even if it crossed the line first.
If there is no named candidate, it should go to the guy who came second.

@ Akin we are not a laughing joke, we actually validate the claim made by gov’t in South America and the Middle East that Democracy isn’t for everyone. The nigerian is still respected (if one can conviently forget the 419scams). Our gov’t on the other hand is …
