Yes, project AfricanLoft is officially four weeks on the cyberspace, but it’s not officially launched yet. July is the month  AfricanLoft will be official; the date will be disclosed, and the activities making the event will be revealed shortly.
Now that the site is fairly stable, we wish to state that membership to the AfricanLoft Community is open to all and any individual who desire to be associated with the platform. Register, create a profile, and tap into the several resources on site.
Some benefits
- Opportunity to get listed as an author in the Discussion Lounge and monetize your content on site. At the very least, have your writings profiled on the home page. All you need to do is create some great blog entries - or reproduce of some of your compelling blog postings.
- Don’t build walls around yourself. Why limit your contents to bloggers? AfricanLoft is read by both bloggers and non-bloggers. AfricanLoft is a platform that commands an eclectic readership base.
- Why upload and leave your media on some over-bloated sites that share little of your values or identity? AfricanLoft is home where you are instantly connected and grounded. Come home!
- AfricanLoft offers users the ability to widgetize uploaded photos/music/video for use on individual blogs and Websites.
Good morning.
I have just added your blog to a collection of all Nigerian blogs which I am currently building and which can be found here: The Nigerian Super Blog . On the site you will be able to read posts from 197 Nigerian blogs ALL from one place (this number will increase as we continue to add new blog feeds).
The preview version of The Nigerian Super Blog was launched on the 1st of July 2007 and the site is still very much in active development (thus you might experience a bug here and there). We’d be happy if you can find time to check it out (I promise you are going to love it because you will be able to read all your favorite blogs and more from one place!). Plus it will help much more people to find and enjoy your blog.
We’d also appreciate any kind of feedback, (blogs @ naijalive . net) and possibly a post about us. and if you really like the site, please tell people about it and add a link to us in your blog.
Other ways you may support this FREE project is by helping us with links or pointers to Nigerian blogs so that we can add them if they are not already there.
Thanks a lot and keep up the good work!

Tony:
There is nothing wrong aggregating blog posts, but I’m sure you have gone about this the wrong way. If you are going to use other people’s content you must provide a back link to their sites. Second - it is not fair to use full posts, excerpts are enough for the purpose of aggregation.

@Imnakoya: Thanks for the advice. We are presently testing out various strategies for implementing our ideas and with the kind of feedback we’ve gotten so far, we are planning several modifications mostly centered around the way we handle the feeds and links.
Actually the website (as it is right now) is still in a more or less foetal/skeletal phase and was only made available to the bloggers while we were scouring for feeds so that we can find out how they feel about the use of their content in such manner and suggest ways of improvement.
You have no idea how much I appreciate your feedback. And I think AfricanLoft is a sound website backed with a sound idea. Wish there were more sites like that around.
Keep it up, Love ur blog!
