Ken Teyie of writes via African Executive:
Discussion on Africa’s development is taking a new dimension. Bloggers have joined this debate and are employing new ways to initiate dialogue about Africa’s development round the world. The latest craze that seeks to use technology to push Africa into the 21st Century is the Carnival of Africa Enterprising. This is basically a traveling web magazine or blog that discusses business in Africa. Centered around a concept mooted by Blog Carnival, it spurs dialogue amongst African bloggers and other leading thinkers; and provides a forum for web publishers (such as bloggers) to discuss common topical and development oriented issues.
More established media are “talking” about bloggers, particularly those active in the African blogosphere, and this is good news. At last, our “rants” are becoming more obvious, however, I’ve a beef with the writer: Shouldn’t Benin Mwangi, the blogger that conceived the Africa Enterprising Blog Carnival, the subject of Ken’s post, be among the names mentioned? He deserves to be acknowledged…that’s how we do it in the blogosphere!

Hi Imnakoya,
Got your concern, As the auther I should have mentioned the name of Benin Mwangi, But the idea here was to promote the concept of Blogging AFrica into the future. If we went to names we would have been forced to include names of the guys behind the Blog Carnival.com, who have provided this forum for bloggers like my good friend Benin Mwangi to publish etc.. you get the drift. This would have changed the whole storyline angle. Its part of a bigger picture that I believe we shouldn’t dwell on so much. But as I always say, Benin is a great African Blogger with genuine interest in the future of Africa. Thanks for finding this article interesting.
