Turn Lagos Bar Beach to a WindMill Farm

This is what the Bar Beach looks like, that guy is taking a leak. The once sandy shoreline is now littered with all sorts of garbage..and of course, the white garment men and other residents of the beach are now more prominent.

With the wind speed and protracted power shortage in Lagos, has anyone ever thought of turning the beach to a windmill farm? Click on images to enlarge.

With Nigeria, the story is always different.
There should be people that are in charge of cleaning the place.
I think the State government should be responsible.

I visited Bar Beach in 2006 with my daughter to show off the beautiful, serene and fun beach of my childhood days. What a shock I had. First I was accosted by some hoodlums (area boys) who demanded i pay them “ground fees”,I ignored this. When I got to the beach, I was so sad, for alas it was dirty, and the general atmosphere was unsavoury. My daughter had to run for dear life as we were chased by these men. Yes Lagos government should do something. Lagos especially is quickly turned into a shanty town, in almost all areas, and this is a crying shame.

Why is it called “bar” beach? Is it because there are sandbars in front of it?

Good question, Don. I have no idea how the name came to be.
