“There will be no Sallah and Christmas holidays for the leaders of the House of Representatives and those of House Committees on Appropriation and Finance to enable them complete work on the 2008 budget proposals. The House plans to pass the budget on December 27…Leader of the House of Representatives, Mr. Tunde Akogun, told Vanguard yesterday that Speaker Bankole gave the no-holidays directive. He said the Speaker in promising earlier that the House would pass the budget by the end of the year did not reckon with the Sallah and Christmas holidays.” - Vanguard.

Are we seeing the shadows of someone who knows what executive accountability and responsibility means?

    We just have to wait and see I guess. I am tempted to say - Hmm Fresh Blood, new blood, dynamism, delivery, turnaround, breaking boundaries etc etc, but THIS IS NIGERIA, and only TIME WILL TELL. For now, good on your Speaker BANKY and more grease to your delicate elbows. May God grant you enough support to follow through and pass in flying colours. One advice I have for you is . STEER CLEAR OF OBJ AND YOU ARE ON THE WINNING PATH.

    “Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
    And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
    Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
    And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
    And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
    But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some
    thirtyfold.”

    They cannot all be bad
