George W Bush, the president of the greatest and biggest democracy is currently in Africa, in what some call a “barnstorming trip” involving 5 countries, starting from Sunday through Thursday. Today is Day 2. As expected, the mainstream have successfully laundered the trip, loaded with reports of the “warm reception” GWB is receiving.
However, it’s not so rosy as the media as painted.
Listen to an analysis of the trip by Robert Rotberg an Adjunct Professor of Public Policy and director of the program on intra-state conflict at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Rotberg says “the signature elements of Bush’s plan for Africa haven’t been delivered to any extent”.
