A continuation of coverage on the Lagos shanty town of Makoko, the slum on stilts on the Lagos Lagoon:

This amphibious clinic/community center (prototype), erected by Hope Floats Initiative HFI, is an excellent example of bottoms-up approach to sustainable development, and extent of possibilities attainable with the right resources.

  1. Thanks for sharing! Imagine if this kind of effort is upped to a scale of 10?

  2. Thank you for covering our project. Hope Floats Initiative is working on ensuring continuity of the Makoko project as well as a roll-out of a nationwide Free Mobile Surgery Program. We meet a fair share of obstacles but we’ll keep on progressing.
