Well we need to wait for more info on the alleged “text message”. So far seems the disowning is the other way round. Many youths are in impressionable age (between age 18 and 25) and a lot of opportunists capitalise on this to evil intents. Many become disturbed, confused and some become over fanatical and zealous ( but unfortunately for the wrong reasons). I am not condoning what Muttallab did or attempted to do at all, but I just have this eerie feeling that his mind had been messed up. Wonder if they are charmed to become zombie like to carry out such acts. I understand true Islam does not preach violence.

I can understand if Umar was a poor chap that has seen severe injustice or suffering, but he is such a bright chap from extremely privileged background. That he could go easily nuts and become homicidal over religious matters is troubling.

Many are so “priviledged’ that they find their “priviledged” background boring. They then look for other ways of enlivining their lives. Sad to say, this is one of the ways. It is important never to spoil our children rotten. Extreme poverty and extreme priviledge seem to have a correlation.

I thought that parents disowned their children, not the other way around. I believe that I know who fathered the evil beast!
