Deziani Alison-Madueke, Minister for Petroleum
In 2007, she served as the Minster for Transportation, and by December of 2008, she became the Minister of Mines and Steel Development.
For the 50 year old wife of a retired naval top brass, this takes more that luck, but having a deep connection to the corridors of power. Diezani spouse is retired Rear Admiral Allison-Madueke, a former Chief of Naval Staff, and a two time military governor.
Prior to the sleuth of federal appointments, Diezani was the first female Executive Director ever at Shell Petroleum.
Madam minister has not really proven her worth beyond her loyalty to who’s power. Her stay at the previous ministries were not free of controversies. Let’s see what she can get done in 13 months managing the largest asset of the nation.

Recycle of power – the thorn in Nigeria’s flesh. The name Maduekwe certainly rings a bell.
I am undoubtedly happy that she is woman but i am not really sure if she is the best choice selected on merit from a list of other well deserving citizens who may not have the privilege of bearing such an influential name (either by birth or marriage).
I also continue to wonder if this will be a breath of fresh air for the industry. However, As a fellow citizen, I still wish you all the best and God’s suidance as you set to give your best.

Our Dear Minister though may have been on her present political platform via her charm and connections, but one thing is very certain,. in that she is setting a pace and a legacy for an average Nigerian woman who may be ambitious and resilient to be all that they want to be in life.

Diezani Allison-Madueke is a Bayelsan that deserves the position of petroleum minister considering her wealth of experience in the petroleum industry. The petroleum minister is a strong and hard-working Nigerian that deserves our support. If you know her family then you can testify that she took after her father. President Jonathan is simple and calm doesn’t mean he should accused and insulted.
